Ever felt like you had a slump at work & that you needed to seek inspiration elsewhere? Well, that’s how Ponggo & I felt a couple of weeks back so we packed our bags & went on a weekend trip with our friend Clara.  At first, we didn’t know where to go but we felt that we just needed to get out of the city for some fresh air–literally & figuratively.  Here are some reasons why we think you should travel too!

Travel Be Inspired Chevrolet Spark

As you can see in the cartoon, this trip was made possible by the uber cute Ponggo blue Chevrolet Spark. (Uhh…That’s not the official color but I’d just like to name it that).  We took it out for a spin and tried to find out what it’s made of!  We were able to cover 1,200 kilometers in 3 days.  I actually thought I’d be seeing the same stuff since Ponggo & I have been to Ilocos before.

Kapurpurawan (White Rock) in Ilocos.  Climbing is no longer allowed on this rock but we were lucky to have seen this rock upclose during our trip years ago.

However, back then, we flew to Laoag so we didn’t have the chance to roam at our own will.  We were at the mercy of shared vehicle rentals & jeeps.  Apparently, there’s this coastal road that’s called the Pan-Philippine highway that stretches from Ilocos Norte to Ilocos Sur & it’s best to drive by when the sun is about to set.

We just discovered this random spot by the road en route to our Vigan Longganisa dinner.  The crashing waves greeted us below and the sun’s light reflected on the water!

Googly Gooeys Sunset with Waves IMG_9512

Sunset along the Pan-Philippine highway. I wish I could just freeze time & it would stay like this forever!

It’s actually hard to describe everything we realized we actually needed to make a video about our whole trip so that you guys could see what we’re talking about!

For those who are curious, the top view of those boats & waves are snippets of our stay at the Pannzian Beach. We all agreed that after staying in a chill & pressure-free place, we wanted to go back to Pagudpud and probably live there for a week or a month without having to work. Hehehe.

Anyway, speaking of travel for inspiration, you don’t really need to drive x hours away from Manila to be inspired.

Pan-Philippine Highway Ilocos

So Ponggo & I were betting weather the sky would turn purple minutes after the sun sets.  I lost the bet & he was able to get this shot.

It could be the nearest coffee shop near your office, a new quaint & quirky place in your neighborhood, a visually inspiring restaurant or a weekend at a local craft workshop to keep your creative juices flowing.  Just like us, if you’re the busy type who needs a break but rarely has a long weekend to spare then we think the Chevrolet Spark is perfect for ya:

1) It’s the perfect car for city driving. – It’s easy to park in tight spaces! 😉

2) Space – For its size, it surprisingly has a generous of leg room for 3-4 people and let’s face it, most of the time, you’re really driving by yourself or with your special someone.

3) Easily Maneuverable – Need to make a U-turn in the middle of a two-way road? No problemo. You’ll get it in one go.

4) Fuel Efficient – There’s nothing more disappointing than getting a huge car & discovering that you’ll be driving it alone 95% of the time & that you’ll be consuming more gas than you should be.  You’ll find out that it’s wobbly than usual because it’s meant for heavy loads & all you need to bring with you are your bag, laptop & gym bag at the most.  So, why not a car that’s meant for your daily needs and something you can take out of the city with friends once in a while? 🙂

We’d also like to share a few points to consider about this vehicle.  Since it is meant for city driving, it performs best on flat roads and needs a little help when going uphill.  Finally, the trunk space is just enough for a couple of carry-on luggages and a small cooler. 🙂

That being said, just remember that each car is meant for a certain function so choose what will serve you best for your daily routine.

We would also love to hear about your road trips & what you do to get you inspired. 🙂
